Board of Directors

WHO WE ARE

A committee of community members who work year round under a franchise granted by the Miss Idaho Organization and The Miss America Organization.  Committee members are not remunerated or receive financial benefit in any manner.  We form part of a network of over 300,000 Miss America volunteers.

OUR MISSION

To provide opportunities for young American women to earn financial assistance in the form of monetary scholarship awards and in-kind scholarships to trade schools, colleges and universities as a means of achieving educational goals; to maintain a system of competition to find Miss America; to encourage participation in this program to enhance career opportunities through coaching of talents, physical fitness and communication skills; to produce positive role models representative of the contemporary American woman; to utilize the Miss America name to generally promote those issues of concern to the American woman: to encourage and promote the role of women in all aspects of our society; to encourage the spirit of good will, volunteerism, mentoring and community service with all of our contestants, committee members and the general public.

WHAT WE DO

We produce the Miss Canyon County Pageant and the Miss Canyon County's Outstanding Teen Pageant as the annual preliminaries to the Miss Idaho Pageant and Miss Idaho's Outstanding Teen Pageant in the Miss America system.  We recruit contestants from the wonderful State of Idaho, help them prepare and rehearse and then coach and prepare our titleholders for the Miss Idaho Pageant. Funds raised by this committee through the patronage of the local business community are awarded in educational scholarships and financial assistance to women in need over and above pageant expenses.  We award thousands of dollars as a part of over 45 million dollars of scholarship assistance awarded annually by the Miss America Organization.
